Irish Work Permits for Spouses and Dependants
New regulations have been introduced in Ireland to allow the spouses and dependants of Irish Work Permit Holders easier access to employment in Ireland.
These new arrangements mean spouses and dependent unmarried children (under 18) of Ireland Work Permit holders can apply for an employment permit to work in Ireland in any occupation, once the primary permit holder has held their Work Permit for 12 months. Under the new regulations, the employer does not need to undertake a labour market needs test for spouse/dependent work permits.
Ireland Spousal Permits, or permits for dependents, are normally issued for the period up to the expiry date of the permit of the existing work permit holder, and can be renewed later.
